Review of NetSuite ERP

February, 2015

Rating: 4/5

NetSuite ERP allows companies to manage back office operations globally and locally. NetSuite addresses the complex multinational and multi-company needs of mid-market organizations.

It enables businesses to adjust for currency, taxation and legal compliance differences at the local level with regional, global business consolidation and roll-up. You have the ability to get unprecedented visibility of your business worldwide in real-time, ensuring consistent, compliant management across the organization, locally and globally.

NetSuite offers a good financial system that includes flexible financial reporting, allocations, consolidation, basic budgeting and revenue recognition. Some customization is required if you need allocations based on actuals.

Consolidation is done in real time (without having to run a separate consolidation process) and includes automated intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation with a currency rate type defined per account.

Some of NetSuite ERP Review’s key features include:

Ease of use

Additionally, NetSuite enables you to make better, faster decisions through real-time business intelligence. NetSuite’s real-time dashboard technology provides an easy-to-use view into role specific business information that is always up-to-date.

Customer Service

Since this ERP is the creation of a large company like NetSuite the customer service is excellent, as would be expected. There are several different ways to get questions answered and problems worked out including phone, email, web and webinars just to name a few.

Add-Ons and Integration

Actian DataConnect is a comprehensive integration platform for NetSuite users, developers and partners who need to quickly, easily and affordably exchange and/or transfer key operational data into Salesforce from virtually any data source or format to realize leads-to-cash, recurring billing and more.

Affordable EDI is a Microsoft Windows based application that transfers data to and from Netsuite.

Jitterbit is the easy and cost-effective data and application integration platform. Jitterbit’s NetSuite integration solutions address the cost and complexity of connecting on -premise and cloud systems with a graphical “No-Coding” approach that makes configuring and managing application & data integration a snap.

CloudConnect is a proven service that integrates data from virtually any business system, in any format, in a bidirectional manner with NetSuite.

Celigo CloudExtend for Google Apps enables true cloud-to-cloud synchronization of Google Apps Gmail, Calendar, Docs and Contracts with NetSuite.

Problems and Complaints

To be honest, I haven’t really found too many things that I can say are problems or complaints with NetSuite ERP.

However, since I strive to give a balanced review of the applications I am writing about. I would have to say the biggest, most obvious complaint would be NetSuite’s price. At a starting price of $499 a month, this system doesn’t come cheap.

However, the thing I kept thinking about while writing my review was, “you get what you pay for”, and I would have to say that phrase fits in this case. There is a wide assortment of benefits NetSuite ERP has to offer and you have to take all of that into consideration when deciding whether or not to use it.

In Conclusion

NetSuite provides a comprehensive suite of enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and e-commerce capabilities that permit customers to manage their critical back-office, front-office and web operations in a single information system.
