Oracle’s PeopleSoft applications were designed to address the most complex business requirements of larger, more detailed businesses. PeopleSoft was acquired by Oracle in 2005, who rebranded the product as Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise and, as with other application acquisitions, Oracle continues to support and advance the PeopleSoft Enterprise.

Oracle’s PeopleSoft HCM is a complete suite including Global Core Human Capital Management, Workforce Management, Workforce Service Delivery, and Talent Management.

PeopleSoft offers Integration Broker (IB) as an open, standards based technology used to integrate with PeopleSoft Applications. Integration Broker in a successful integration platform that delivers high performance standards-based integration. It is designed to manage integration between PeopleSoft applications and other PeopleSoft, legacy, packaged and SOA enabled applications.

Problems and Complaints

Even though PeopleSoft is jam-packed with a wealth of options and abilities, one of the things I had a problem with is that, when you are first starting out, it takes some time to really learn everything and get up to speed.

This is to be expected with such a powerful application, however, that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with. Although, it is a small problem when you take into consideration all the possibilities that PeopleSoft has to offer.

In Conclusion

PeopleSoft is a very powerful HCM application that is best fit for a larger business with a more intricate workflow process. However, never believing in too much of a good thing, I also found benefits for even small companies to be able to take advantage of.

Even though it may cost a bit more than other options on the market PeopleSoft is still definitely worth looking into, especially when you consider you have Oracle behind it.
