In a word, Oracle Fusion is big. With the massive weight of Oracle behind it, Fusion is Oracle’s strategic direction. It’s solid, configurable, comprehensive, and we see it as a future market leader.
Oracle Fusion Human Capital Management covers Global HR/Benefits/Payroll, Talent Management, Social Networking, Goal & Performance Management, Talent Review, Workforce Lifecycle Management, Compensation, Business Intelligence and Predictions.
Before you choose Fusion HCM, here are the key things you need to know
First, Oracle Fusion is complex - one of its biggest strengths and biggest weaknesses. Fusion includes about 100 modules pretty much covering your whole business. It was over 5 years in the making. As a suite it is comprehensive - but brings the burden of size, such as cost and complexity to implement.
Second, Oracle Fusion Human Capital Management is still a young product. Many organisations are using Oracle’s other HCM offerings, and have not yet migrated to Fusion. If you’re using Fusion functionality that isn’t widely used yet, it’s important to have a good working relationship with Oracle.
Third, Fusion HCM isn’t as fully comprehensive as some of Oracle’s other HCM software. Notably, the Fusion Applications don’t yet provide the same depth of time and attendance or recruitment functionality (note: Oracle Talent Cloud / Taleo does provide good cloud-based recruitment features). Fusion’s real strength in Global HR, payroll, compensation and general HR administration
Finally, ask for case studies and reference sites. As with any major implementation, I recommend you speak to others who have implemented recently and get expert advice.
